Emily Mogami is a Japanese artist focused in painting and cardboard art. She loves paying homage to her Japanese and Brazilian heritage into her works, but in more recent works incorporates themes of feminism and female empowerment. As an immigrant woman of color, it is important for her to demonstrate the struggles she's faced because of her gender and race, but in the process she twists her art to be fun and campy to juxtapose with the deeper meaning.
